Im a gym virgin and need some advice on what equipment and exercises to do to get rid of my belly and tone up but also the inner thighs – to tighten these up
Cross trainer, Treadmill, Stairmaster, Rowing machine if you like (you don’t have to do all of these. I find the rowing machine and x-trainer quite boring). On the treadmill you can’t just walk on it though. It won’t have any effect. Build up your stamina and run or walk fast on an incline. You need to be out of breath for at least 30mins so you can work out your routine how you like. You could do 20mins rowing + 10mins treadmill…or…10mins treadmill, 10mins stairmaster, 15mins rowing.
To tone up do some weights. At my gym they have all the machines you need for toning up. There’s like a particular one for inner and outer thighs etc. Ask somone there if you don’t know where they are.
For your belly do sit ups and crunches. Use an ab roller or yoga ball to help you.
Hope this helps!

EDIT: Somebody’s said don’t do weights?? If all you do is burn fat and don’t tone up your muscles you’ll end up with flabby skin everywhere and you won’t be toned – which is what you want.
You can get an aerobics DVD and exercise with it.
I want to start waking up and doing some sort of routine right in my home before I take a shower. What I want are some basics that I can just start doing, such as push-ups, curl ups, and squats. What are some other exercises where they’re no weights and it’s more about repetition?
There are perhaps hundreds of different kinds of calisthenic or bodyweight exercises you can perform. Search online for "bodyweight exercises" and you’ll find all the information you’d ever need. No need to buy Matt Furey’s books, one of several outspoken bodyweight-only exercise advocates, since they don’t go into great detail on exercise performance anyway (although they are interesting and I have several).
Some more possibilities: handstand pushups or holds, planche, front lever (gymastic exercises), tables, hindu pushups, hindu squats, bridging, jumping jacks, broad jumps, high jumps, sprints, jump ropes (without rope), mountain climbers, pullups or holds, bear crawls, crab walks, jogging (in place), walking, marching, tumbling, etc., etc. If some of these become too easy for you (pushups, pullups, squats), try them with one arm or leg.
There is valid rationale for using only bodyweight training, and it could provide for all of one’s training needs. It certainly works for gymnasts and many other athletes.
Exercise can literally make you feel better mentally and emotionally and you can often train even if you have some health problems or injuries. For example if you have arthritis or stress fractures you can still use elliptical equipment to exercise and maintain muscle mass. And you can exercise at home in relative ease if you have the equipment for it.
It can be tuff to get started and you simply need to find your inner motivation for using the exercise equipment. Well, don’t feel too guilty, people often make resolutions to begin a proper exercise routine and find that they slack off in a few weeks. If you set specific days for the training it often work better and after some time you get kind of addicted to training.
Even if your gym might have some of the newest and greatest exercise equipment available there are great alternatives to gym training. In fact, aerobic exercise is far more effective at helping you lose weight then strength training, although a home gym can help you build up your muscle mass which can accelerate your weight loss in addition to the aerobic exercises that you do.
Whether this comes in the form of housecleaning for an hour or strength training at the gym, it is a fact that exercise keeps your muscles strong, your heart strong, and your body in shape. If you haven’t been involved in weight strength training in the past, it is really easy to get confused by all the different kind of home gym equipment that is on the market today.
Try to get some good guidance and training before you undertake using free weights to make sure you are doing it properly. If you decide to go this route, it’s a good idea to invest in a training program that will show you how to use your equipment properly and avoid injury.
Most home gyms are usually strength training machines that provide a structured way of performing each exercise. The benefits of strength training are many and well-documented, and they can be very useful for overall body conditioning
When you look at gym equipment, you can pick out some of the most useful and flexible machines and tools, and separate them from the gimmicks. Many users of home gym equipment have or use multistation pieces that allow them to workout on several types of machines in one, for example the Bowflex. There are also multiple weight machines to use each one focusing on a different muscle.
The home gym equipments generally falls into two major categories, the first being home gyms that use rods or bars to create resistance, and the second being strength training machines that use a weight stack or plates. Both categories have advantages and do not hesitate to use a machine with weight stack or plates. It is good training to do that job as well.

I am a 36 DD and i weigh about 145 and ive just started goin to a gym well i want to tone everything and try to reduce the size of my breast so what gym equipment or exercise should i concetrate on?
Hey, good going on getting some exercise into your lifestyle. Besides toning and looking good, your body will love you because of all the health benefits exercise provides!
If you want a great form of exercise, want to save money on a gym membership and get into a really effective form of exercise that is fun, look into mini-trampoline exercise. You don’t have to bounce very much to get a lot of benefits. http://www.improving-health-and-energy.com/mini-trampoline-exercise.html
I’d also suggest getting someone at the gym to help you plan out a routine that gives you some good cardiovascular exercise, like the bike, treadmill or aerobics plus some gentle strength training, which helps your body burn fat and lose inches the most.
Mini-trampoline exercise gives your whole body a cardiovascular and a resistance workout – for every cell in your body.
Cheers,
